The presentation rail is not included The Vossloh G 2000 BB is a four-axle heavy diesel locomotive built by Vossloh in the MaK plant in Kiel. In the year 2000 this series was introduced and at the time was the most powerful Vossloh diesel hydraulic locomotive. The Swiss construction series Am 840 are diesel locomotives of the Vossloh G2000 BB-series of which 6 were purchased by the SBB and classified as construction series Am 840. The locomotives were given the running numbers 840 001-2, 840 002-0, 840 003-8, Am 840 901-3, Am 840 902-1 and 840 903-9 There are a number of types of the G2000-BB locomotives built. The first series (G2000-BB/1) had an asymmetric cab with a walkway, whereby one could walk from front to back. The walkway was intended for the driver to leave the cabin for shunting and via a remote control could operate the locomotive. The later variants have a symmetrical cab. Main reason was to meet the safety requirements of some countries (e.g. Italy), requiring that 2 people should fit in the cabin. There were 2 new variants (G2000-BB/2 and G2000-BB/3) built with the G2000-BB/2 got left-hand drive and the G2000-BB/3 right-hand drive. The locomotives of the series Am 840 was identical to the G2000-BB/2. The locomotives with the symmetrical cabin were nicknamed "Broadbill-frog". The series Am 840 locomotives by the SBB Cargo purchased were not certified for Switzerland, but were deployed on Italian routes where the SBB Cargo took care of the transports. In 2013 the 6 Am 840 locomotives were sold to the Swiss transport company Scheuzer.
