So-called Manila shawl. Spanish, woven in natural silk crepe, entirely hand-embroidered. All the central area is full of multicoloured motifs with a floral theme. The predominant colours are fuchsia and purple, there is an attractive and rare variety of shades. Period: 19th century probably circa 1860/90) The dimensions of the central embroidered cloth are: 160 cm x 160 cm , plus 50 cm of fringe all around the central cloth (15 cm of hand-made lattice work macramé plus 35 cm of straight fringe coming out of the macramé) Due to its antiquity it shows some signs of yellowing typical of the passage of time. On one of the sides there is a minor, dark spot with a small perforation. All of that can be seen in the photographs.
