This Scion of the HeckFlosse (fintail) Classes is positioned between the smaller 4 cylinder W110 and very luxurious W112 (air suspension/3 litres). The W111 baureihe is characterized by the sharper tail fins and panorama windows, a trend from the USA in the late 1950s. Between Aug/1959 and July/1965 161,119 pieces were produced. The W111 was succeeded by the W108 Baureihe.
A very characteristic feature of all Heckflosse models was the huge trunk. An extensive luggage set you could storage effortlessly in it. And also you could easily place eight crates of beer next to each other in it. Find a match for that!

According to the previous owner, the car has been driven in America only a few months before it ended up in Netherlands. In the Netherlands the car has had 3 owners (including the current owner), of which the 2nd Dutch owner has had it in possession for 17 years.
The car has a 6 cylinders M180 block (casting number 1800111701), with dual Solex carburettors and a cylinder capacity of 2,195 cc. Good for a top speed of 160-165 km/h. The car has never run on LPG, always petrol.
A month ago service has been performed. The valves have been adjusted. The spark plugs, spark plug wires, rotor, distributor cap, contact points and ignition have been replaced. In addition 4 brand new white wall tires have been mounted.
The Heckflosse has the rare option: a Kühlmeister air conditioning system. This has been disabled by the previous owner by removing the v-belt. Reason for this was that the previous owner found that the air conditioning consumed too much fuel. The air conditioning system is complete, but will no doubt need some maintenance. The interior has known better years as well. There will be some work in that.
The car was always stored inside with the 2nd and current owner. Due to time constraints, the current owner could hardly drive the car and in the meantime the inspection has expired. On request we can arrange for a Dutch customer to receive the car with a new Dutch Periodic Vehicle Inspection.
