RAAK Amsterdam – Aluminium crystal glass pendant light, model B1044
In well-functioning vintage condition, a special pendant light by Raak Amsterdam, model B1044 from the 1960s.
This light consists of two clear crystal glass bowls in relief with aluminium rings/discs in between them.
See the detail photos of the glass, one has a chip/flea bite.
On the inside, this pendant light still has the original RAAK sticker.
Measurements: Lamp height 18 cm x diameter 35 cm.
The crystal glass discs are 6 cm deep.
Cord and canopy approx. 50 cm.
Materials: crystal glass, anodised copper-coloured aluminium.
Light bulb up to 100 watts, preferably clear.
Background information:
The Dutch company Raak Amsterdam was founded in 1954 by Carel O. Lockhorn (1923–2004), a former employee of Philips Lighting Eindhoven.
Raak, which in Dutch means "a hit" implies a design that hits the nail on the head.
Raak is quite well-known for their organic modern designs from the 1960s and 70s, combining glass and metal in a futuristic, uncontemporary design, for that time.
This pendant light has the usual signs of wear such as scratches on the aluminium around the lamp, but not so bad on the whole, please have a good look at all the photos.
PLEASE NOTE: This lamp comes without a light bulb, it has only been used for the styling and the photos.
Will be sent well-packaged and by registered post via PostNL, both within the Netherlands and abroad.
